Spotlight on Rav Zev Shandalov

Rav Zev Shandalov is a native Chicagoan, who made Aliya in 2009. After spending 17 years in business in the field of purchasing, he became Rabbi of Congregation Kehilath Jacob Beth Samuel in Chicago for 10 years, in addition to being an educator, and serving for three years as the president of the Chicago Rabbinical Council.

He served on the advisory board of Yeshivot Bnei Akiva, the Board of Education of Arie Crown Hebrew Day School, and of Hanna Sachs and also served as a member of the Rabbinical Council of America’s Executive Board.

In addition, while in Chicago, Rav Zev served on an ad hoc committee for prevention of child abuse, which he helped to found. 

Rav Zev is the author of Zemirot Azamer B’Fiyut (volumes 1 and 2), liturgical poetry in Hebrew meant to inspire and his recently released book “The Three Images.”
